Application Information
Instructions for use

Product Application
Embed the fiber glass mesh into the upper third of coatings.
Always allow for a 10 cm overlap between rolls.
Use alluminium rollers to compact the mesh into place.
Consult with individual product technical datasheet requirements for Vetofiber GFR usage.

Surface Preparation

All suitable substrates must be smooth, structurally sound and free of any substance that could prevent adhesion.
Do not use chemical means (acid etching or stripping) to prepare approved substrates. Use mechanical methods only.
To remove any bond-inhibiting materials, concrete substrates should be mechanically cleaned and prepared by diamond-cup grinding or other engineer- approved methods to obtain the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) concrete surface pro le (CSP) of #2. When concrete requires more mechanical preparation, the profile will typically increase. In such cases, the surface can be made smooth by applying coats of a Saveto Vetorep range of products.
Consult Vetoproof range Technical Data Sheets of individual waterproofing products for other important surface preparation instructions. For other details contact Saveto Technical Services Department.

Limitation
  • Do not cover any substrate expansion joint or control joints with mortar or tiles. Provide for expansion and control joints where speci ed per Detail EJ-171 of the most current TCA handbook for ceramic tile installation, or Detail 301MJ of the TTMAC Tile Installation Manual.
  • If waterproofing integrity is required in expansion and control joints, provide per the above drawing. Mapeband cove roll can be bonded to both sides of the joint and lled with an appropriate joint sealant or an expansion molding system.
  • Protect tilework with metal strips (edge metal) along both edges of structural building expansion joints.
  • When necessary, cut tiles along both edges of the expansion joints. Do not allow tile and mortar to overlap the joints.
  • Install the specified compressible bead and sealant into all expansion and control joints.
