stated consumptions data are for general guidance.
Original sealed container of Vetoflex SS789 has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
Application
Vetoflex SS789 should be carefully applied using a mastic gun, ensuring that the material is forced well into the gap to obtain the correct joint and achieve good adhesion between surfaces. Necessary tooling to be done within 5 minutes after application
Cleaning
Vetoflex SS789 should be removed from tools, equipment and mixers with Vetonit Solvent XX400 immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Clean all joint surfaces and remove any dust, unsound material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae. Roughen the surfaces, remove any laitence and expose aggregate by light scabbling or grit-blasting.
Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser.
Any joint filler must be checked to ensure it is tightly packed and no gaps or voids exist at the base of the sealing slot before positioning a bond breaker.
The use of a bond breaker is not required in expansion joints containing cellular polyethylene joint filler, backing rod (Vetoflex PBR). For contraction joints a bond breaker tape or back-up strip must be used.
Where a particularly neat finish is required, mask the face edges of the joint before sealing and remove immediately after tooling is completed.
Vetoflex SS789 should not come into contact with skin and eyes or be swallowed. Avoid inhalation of vapor and spray. Use only in well ventilated areas. In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory protection.
Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Barrier creams provide additional skin protection.
Should accidental skin contact occur, remove immediately with a suitable skin cleanser followed by washing with soap and water. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. If swallowed, seek medical attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.
