Adhesive for autoclaved aerated concrete block
Vetoblock Mortar AAC is a powder adhesive composed of hydraulic binders, bonding agent, selected aggregates synthetic resins and special additives. It is supplied as a dry powder in pre-weighed bags ready to use on site, which requires only addition of clean water to produce easily workable mortar. Vetobock Mortar AAC is ideal for fixing autoclaved aerated concrete blocks & panels.
Vetoblock Mortar AAC is supplied in 25 & 50 kg Bags, Consumption: 1.3 - 1.5 Kg/m2/ 1mm thickness
Stated consumptions data are for general guidance. Actual consumption depends on the nature of substrate, method of application and wastage.
Original sealed bags of Vetoblock Mortar AAC has a shelf life of 12 months provided it is stored clear of ground in a dry shaded place below 25ºC.
Mixing
Add to the mixing container 12.5-15 litres of clean water for 50 Kg bag of Vetoblock Mortar AAC. Add the powder to the water and mix with a mechanical plaster mixer or low speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free consistency is achieved.
Leave the mixed material to stand for 10 min and briefly remix without addition of water.
Manual mixing is allowed for small batch quantities by mixing for approx. 1-2 min, or when homogenous mix is achieved.
Application
Neutralize the suction of the block surface with water before applying mortar. Any excess water should be removed.
Ensure that the first layer of blocks is fixed proper with perfect alignment.
The Vetoblock Mortar AAC is spread with trowel on the surface and joints where the blocks are to be mounted.
Vetoblock Mortar AAC should be applied in a thin layer to enable the continuity of thermo-insulation of the blocks. Leave a space of about 2 cm between the top of block wall and the bottom of slab or beam in order to avoid formation of cracks along the wall. This cavity should be filled with compressible material.
If the blocks are laid directly on a floor with possible humidity rising, it is recommended to apply a proper damp course system first.
Cleaning
All tools should be cleaned immediately after finishing by water. Hardened materials can be cleaned mechanically.
The AAC block/panel surface should be sound, clean, free from loose material, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compound, etc.
Prior to Vetoblock Mortar AAC application, wet the entire surfaces with clean potable water and surface should look damp at the time of VetoBlock Mortar application.
Vetoblock Mortar AAC is highly alkaline therefore avoid direct contact with eyes or skin. It is recommended to use protective gloves and goggles during application. Any skin contact should be wash with soap & water. In case of eyes irritation, immediately wash with copious amount of clean cold water. Seek medical advice.
